Heavy Industries

After pusuing career paths as varied as a cloakroom attendant in the Mud Club in the 80s, a tarmacker, owner of a scaffolding company a brief stint in fashion, a sucessful stint as a female impersonator on cruise ships, and finally running a tour bus business for rock bands, I decided to get a proper job doing something useful to make the world a safer place for my children to grow up in.

The result is Heavy Industry Brewing, a project which began in 2009 with a course at Brewlab  in Sunderland studying British Brewing Technology with the secret intention of getting out and then kegging the shit out of everything. Whilst there, I became enamoured with cask ale and was lucky enough to work as a general dogsbody at the Purple Moose Brewery in Porthmadog for the summer of 2009, where I learned the ins and outs of process and running a brewery. 

We began brewing on our ten barrel brewkit in the summer of 2012, and since then we have built up a solid and diverse core range of beers, and won numerous awards at regional and national level. We aren't resting on our laurels and will be bringing out more specials and investing in expanding our keg beer range in the near future.
