At Ashgrove Farm in rural Wiltshire, we converted an old barn into a brewery using our natural resources from the Estate to give people a taste of Britishness in our brews. Specially-selected hops, blended with classic varieties and new breeds help to shape each of our beer’s flavour, making them well-rounded and sessionable. In truth, there are no shortcuts when it comes to learning the art of beer making. Constantly wishing to improve and learn from our contemporaries, we strive to inject modern sensibilities into a traditional British drink. It takes two days to harvest our barley crop. We harvest 80 tons of Maris Otter malt barley each year to create English Lore and aim for the peak of summertime – at the end of July or towards the start of August – using those hot dry days to gather the barley.
