Starting with a pale ale base, we added lactose to give this beer a lot of body and a creamy mouthfeel, hopped with Chinook & Mount Hood to give the beer a floral and slightly spicy edge to the aroma. For the cold-brew coffee, we worked with Northern Tea Merchants & Coffee roasters in Chesterfield to find the perfect product. We settled on Deterra Sweet Yellow: this coffee has a medium body, a floral and sweet aftertaste with a nutty aroma. It is sourced from the Cerrado Region of Brazil. The company is world-renowned for the farm’s sustainability and looking after the local community. The resulting beer is a light creamy ale with a great coffee aroma, without the burnt and acidic flavours usually attributed to the style.
